Partaking in Jewish tradition is prominent in the world around us. Weekly family Friday night gatherings, Israel trips, putting up a mezuza on one’s office door and so forth are all evident.
One working man is taking this to the next level, literally – outer space.
Gregory Chamitoff, Jewish American and member of NASA’s Discovery crew, embarks on a six-month research mission on the international space station in May. Accompanying him on his shuttle will be not one, but two mezuzot, to decorate his bunk area, making this a kosher space shuttle.
We wish Chamitoff and his crew nissiah tova (safe travels).
