Two Years of Captivity

Continuing on yesterday’s post Two years since Shalit was captured, I came across an interesting video on YouTube.

At the beginning of May, the Canadian Jewish News published an article about a book that Shalit wrote when he was in Grade 5 called When the Shark and the Fish First Met.

“The tale…depicts the struggles the two animals go through to overcome their natural enmity and the worries of their respective mothers, who fear their children are making a grave mistake pursuing this friendship.” – Canadian Jewish News

The Israeli Consulate in New York has put a video of middle school children reading from this story on YouTube to mark the two years of Shalit’s captivity.

Watch this video and hear the words of Gilad Shalit as an 11 year old boy come to life as we hope for his safe return home.
